The Voice You Never See was a project led by Suffolk-based poet Karl Knights who created a community video poem about the COVID experience of disabled people across the county.

 

In February 2022 Karl talked to disabled Suffolk residents of all ages and backgrounds, hearing their stories and experiences of how COVID has changed our everyday lives.

Filmed & edited by Alex Jeffery of Creative Nation, the project has been supported by Suffolk County Council's COVID Continuity Fund for Culture. Alex says: “Karl’s poem is the ‘hero’ here, so I wanted to make sure it sits proud and the viewer has time/is forced to listen, more than watch. At the same time I wanted to echo the feeling of being stuck in a room with time/life passing…"
